Please check with your own school academic office or contact to the e-mail address at the very bottom, administrative office for the Kyoto Seminar to confirm details regarding the Seminar(s).VISA (Important!)
As soon as you decide to participate our seminar(s), first thing you need to do is to find out if you need visa or not.
It is your responsibility to apply one by yourselves at the Japanese Embassy in your residential area.
You have to find your guarantor who can prepare document for you.
If you do not have family or friend in Japan and need us to be your guarantor, you will need to contact:
1) to Ritsumeikan contact address on this website, or
2) to University of Sydney, if you are taking this course as offshore program by University of Sydney.
*Make sure to contact one of the institution
by the end of the application period.
Some country's embassys take longer than others to issue visa, so we strongly advise you to start preparing document as soon as you can.
If we were to prepare document for you as a guarantor, it usually takes about 3 weeks to a month for you to receive document from us. You should also remember that you need to enter Japan within three months after your visa is issued.
Please ask directly to the Embassy in your area to find out more.

For example, if you are Chinese, you will need one of the visa shown below;
1. Friend and family visa:
Your friend or relative who lives in Japan can be your guarantor and support
your stay in Japan up to 90 days. This is for usual sight seeing but with this visa, you can stay in Japan and participate our seminar(s) also.
2.Short-term business visa:
This is the visa we can be your guarantor to support your stay only to attend semianr(s).
With this visa, you may stay in Japan a few days before and after the seminar(s), but not more than that. We can not support the period you may want to do sightseeing after the seminar(s) end(s).
Please note that despite of the name of this visa, it will not allow you to engage in any business activity or to receive any kind of payment in Japan.
