Fees

***Different rules may apply for Students of Ritsumeikan, including Asian Pacific University. Please check with your own school academic office or e-mail to the address at the very bottom, administrative office for the Kyoto seminar to confirm about the details regarding seminar(s).

Service charge 50,000 yen for 1 seminar (inclusive of 10,000 yen registration fee)

70,000 yen for 2 seminars (inclusive of10,000 yen registration fee)

The service charge covers the following
- general administration
- printing costs
- on-the-ground logistical support
- welcome party
- a certificate of completion

Airfares, travel expenses, accommodation, insurance and other living expenses are not included in the service charges.

Please note that the registration fee is not refundable. The service charge is fully refundable (less international bank transfer fees and the registration fee) by 15 January 2009. Thereafter, the registration fee and service charge will only be refunded if the Seminars have been cancelled or you have been refused enrolment.

Course Credit

The Kyoto and Tokyo Seminars are not-for-credit courses. Students receive a Certificate of Completion upon completing the course requirements.

However, some Australian law schools provide course credit for participation in the Seminars. Thus:

* The Australian National University provides course credit for postgraduate students participating in the Kyoto Seminar.
* The University of Sydney expects to offers credit to LLB students (who must enrol in both Seminars) and LLM students (who may enrol in either or both Seminars).

Law students at other law schools may apply for cross-institutional enrolment at any of the above institutions in order to receive course credit for attending the Kyoto and Tokyo Seminars. Please check with your home university whether you are entitled to enrol cross-institutionally and the procedures for doing so.

Application Procedure

A completed application form must be submitted to Secretariat for the Kyoto/Tokyo Seminar, Ritsumeikan University School of Law by email (kyo-smr@st.ritsumei.ac.jp). Upon accepting your application, we will provide you with account details for transferring the program fee.

The application deadline for the 2009 seminars: December 15, 2008.
The payment deadline for the 2009 seminars :December 20, 2008.

Late applications will only be accepted at the discretion of the Secretariat and only if places are still available.

Please fill in Application Form (Word 2003) and send the application form by email to Secretariat for Kyoto/Tokyo Seminar, Ritsumeikan University. Please indicate "Kyoto/Tokyo Seminar application" as the title of your email.
